>>7108594>>7108729I mean, if it works then more power to you. But I feel as if the core of my depression lies within factors out of my control that I'd rather not get into. I do what I can with reps and self improvement, but that can only go so far.
I'd rather not have some guy who was born luckier than I tell me that my problems are entirely made up in my head.
I would maybe like to try therapy someday but I do not have the financial means to do so with the super high prices. I was thinking of trying out my campus therapists (free), but honestly they don't seem good at all.
>>7108824Yeah I realize that I chose poor words there. I meant that therapists will outright reject your thoughts and opinions if they believe them to be "wrongthink".
For example, someone who takes a critical view of morality in modern society will be told that he is "wrong" by a therapist. Despite the fact that the person has their own thoughts and observations that led them to that set of beliefs.
>>7109867This one reason why mental health has become a major epidemic in our society. Express any feelings of insecurity or struggle and you will be called a schizophrenic nutjob. Then we think we can fix the problem by telling everyone to "go to therapy!!!!"
