Vtubing appeals to disabled people because a lot of them can't have a regular job so its an opportunity to make some money with the extra time they have on their hands. Using an avatar instead of your face is also appealing to a lot of people with disabilities because they may have equipment they don't want you to see (breathers, urine bags) or are too disabled to do their makeup and shit so may feel self concious. Streaming is also a way to interact with the world when normally you may not be able to go outside.
