I could tell you a lot, but page 9 is not the best page to do stuff like this. drop a temporary email and I can either email you more stuff if you wanna talk more, or give you my discord.
the main issue with cptsd is that it depends a lot on your current personal situation, if youre male or female, age, friends, level of function etc.
basically, theres 4 different primary subtypes. CPTSD is essentially an attachment disorder. Every interpersonal relationship is perceived as a threat. And to a threat, you react with a defense mechanism
Type 1 is narcisstic (essentially, the "attack/fight" option as reaction to threat). its very similar to borderline in how it shows itself.
Type 2 is flight, avoidance. Very common among males that were abused in childhood, little interaction with people, cant work, lots of anxiety, depression etc. Often avoid close relationships even online. Depending on severity, this primary type is the easiest to recover from in my opinion if its not too extreme. Finding a friend online that actually understands you and is an extrovert (to a point) and genuinely in your corner can go a long way.
Type 3 is freeze, you dont react to things that are threatening. its very primitive, I have never encountered an adult with this as primary type, but its often a secondary defense mechanism if flight failed or isnt possible or if fawning failed.
Type 4 is Fawn. Thats usually what women end up that have been molested and or beaten since they were children. It causes insane damage to selfperception in both sexes and comes almost always with other diagnosises. The only way to get anywhere is to meet someone that tells you that youre a fawn before you reach your 30s. Most fawns are unaware they are fawns until they are told, but they still end up instinctively going to relive that dynamic. traumabonding, always blaming themselves for not being good enough etc.
you can be any subtype regardless of sex, some are just more likely than others to be a certain gender, just based on how puberty wires the brain (and therefore the ability to deal with trauma)
