Members that were inclined to hang it up but didn't want to be the first party pooper would feel less "ashamed" about quitting (matsuri, mel, haato, choco, shion). Also members that have been grinding it out but stagnating see someone who veni vidi vici'd and start thinking "what am I still doing here?" (akirose, mio, roboco).
You can't convince me there isn't at least 1 person that has already resolved themselves to leaving and is just waiting for the right time.
