>>71316974This is with their private sector's equivalent of SpaceX called Space One. That being said, it's not embarrassing but it is a setback for the company. Unfortunately, this kinda bodes badly for Japan's commercial space sector, they won't be top dog. China is probably going to dominate the sector in East Asia, their coast is much better for launches and they just had an equivalent company in their "private" sector that managed a launch out at sea and got a solid fuel rocket launched in January.

They do a lot of space launches but I am not surprised they choked and India got lucky and got on the moon without issue.
>>71318246JAXA has done some impressive stuff like sending that rocket to the asteroid and sending it back, but their space launches are too minuscule and pales in comparison annually compared to everyone else. They just need more funding in the area.
