Natural selection steers predators away from eating them. Hippos could hypothetically hunt and kill lions, and in fact lions are absolutely terrified of hippos, because hippos fucking kill them. But hippos don't eat lions because that's just generally a bad idea.
Orcas are unique in that they will kill purely for enjoyment, not necessarily to eat their prey. Thus they will regularly make sport of hunting other apex predators even though eating those predators would be a terrible idea.
