Mechari has a cafeteria on the premise along with convenience stores, there's even a Costco like 20 minutes away by foot

Japanese Holo-anti are currently spreading pics of the food everywhere (well, it's their only angle).
Those portions at that price would be fine at a random pop-up café, but for convention food it's a scam. 1500¥ sounds ok because the yen is weak as shit, but it's actually expensive as fuck compared to to regular food.

nah the food is always mediocre at best
if it's themed like this you can get it for the experience because you're there and its fun.
but otherwise just eat before you arrive and bring a granola bar. same with sporting events, concerts, airports, etc.

The trick is to not bother with hot food. Cold-cut tortilla wraps can be made at scale quickly, look presentable, and serving that with some pre-packaged chips, water/soda bottles, and sauce packets is a reasonable facsimile of a meal with some amount of choice available. Though, I shouldn't be surprised that the only con I've been to that had its food logistics up to the task was one sponsored by Amazon.
