anycolor used up money that could've been used for a new studio on stocks
and look where it got them
sure, they still have money in the war chest... but that money could've been used elsewhere (actual management, a new studio, literally anything to help grow their profits)
it's why for a tech/venture company, a stock buyback is the stupidest fucking thing to do (because it's basically telling the public you have nothing else to spend your money on)
if you're a growth stock, you're looking to SPEND anything you have to grow your company faster, not to pump up your stock price.
i think that's why a lot of people were fucking baffled at anycolor's decision, and now it bit them in the ass.
they're spending a bit more now, but it's far too little and far too late.
