I can't remember the exact conversation but it was an obvious joke made by someone who doesn't understand or particularly care about the game, just trying to keep things moving. The Jap reaction was so overboard I thought that /vt/ was exaggerating how bad it was. Your average MLB fan says worse shit than that about players they actually like when their team is actually winning.
