I think you're underestimating the insanity of vtuber fans. Many people here predicted that Coco would not break SC records for her final stream because most Tatsunokos know her roommate and have been SCing like crazy for a month, but she still shattered all records. Obviously Eden getting SCs isn't the same level as importance as Coco's grad, but I don't think merch sales is going to affect their SC numbers.

You can't really say that. A lot stream everyday and even stream twice a day even when it wasn't the summer holidays or the weekends like Lamy, Miko and Botan. A lot also push a lot of work behind the scenes that bring content in other forms like Subaru, Aqua, Suisei, Nene, Marine and Kanata. Pekora is only focused in streaming. Pekora's streaming style is incompatible with her goals. Simple as that. Actually all things considered his team isn't that bad. The way the apex tournament is organized each team has one "Really strong member" and two "just competent enough not to embarrass themselves" players. Astel is stronger than most other players in the tournament and Choco and Roboco have a history of working well together, so he actually has a decent chance of taking the championship.

Probably doesn't help that they've scheduled it during primetime, current scheduled big names being Aqua, Kanata and Lain. On top of that there are a lot of smaller streams starting/going at that timeslot.

It's almost definitely a fixed amount, with maybe a small bonus if she gets more than a certain amount of customers. Royalty type payouts tend to be a bad deal for everyone involved when it comes to short term promotional deals like this, it complicates things on the cafe's end because they don't know how much money they will pay out and can't effectively budget for it and on Miko's end it's almost always lesser than a fixed deal would provide and would also take a longer time to pay out.

Elira and Finana's sub growth is starting to flatten out a lot. Obsydia are growing faster than LazuLight did in their first two weeks but they have existing fans from LazuLight subbing too so it's not surprising. I think around 200-250k subs is going to be the cap for NijiEN members for the next year or so unless someone amazing pops up in wave 3 or 4 and draws a lot of new eyes to the branch.

People may not have noticed but Gura getting a Taco Bell partnership signals something important: even companies not deeply invested in the weeaboo market realized vtubing is at very least the next big fad, and maybe even something, like japanese animation, more permanent.
This mindset among advertisers and companies usually trickle down, from the most subscribed VTuber to some big in the companies to some literally who indies that have something to offer (similar theme with the logo of the company, similar geographical region and whatnot).

Shitposting and tribalism aside having these companies grow their talent benefit all of them

Take Mark Robber: his videos are very "niche" (not as clickbait as the likes of Paul Logan) and have a high production value (in the sense je builds very complex jiggamagigs).

He has 19M subscribers and, yet, his interesting videos get at very least that many views, with the some getting 3x, 4x his number of subscribers in the span of a few months.

It helps that content creators like him releases only a few videos per year but, nevertheless, it shows how HUGE the market is for VTubers to expand.

October was the biggest month for Hololive with Coco and Haachama return, peak buff from HoloEN, Miko return.

Even Noel got 140k on a 3D live mostly because she did it the same day Miko returned.
2021 is a whole new year, I don't think 160k is achievable but I would love to see Marine make me look like a fool

lol I'm pretty sure Marine is the winner of today. Kanata "only" getting 33k with a novelty stream like host club is a bit disappointing, but mostly because she struggled to find guests for her call-ins. Suisei would've definitely gotten more than 30k if she wasn't overlapping with Kanata too. Between Irys getting 30k, Calli + Irys getting 20k, Miko getting 20k, today was a pretty good day for Holos overall, with Pekora not even streaming at night too.

More like people are more excited for the first few streams = more viewers. It's basically the same phenomenon as streaming story games, the farther into the game, the less viewers you get (ofc there are exceptions like Pekora's FF10 playthrough).

They're just stretching their game at this point to remain relevant. Recently, they put out the 6th map/story after months. The last chapter is probably next year. If they still want to make money though, their best option is to make vtubers from their characters, presumably the 7 servants from their first series. It'd be super funny though. They can literally contend with Sony vtubers next years because those 7 characters already gained huge popularity around the world and had widespread memes from it.

I hate to say that you "can't" do that because nothing is absolute, but the example of Gamebu and to a lesser extent Kizuna AI shows that you cannot simply switch out a voice actor like this, and the record in the Anime industry supports this as well. Unless there's a very good reason (Mostly illness, age or scheduling issues), changing VAs for a character will be met with extreme amounts of backlash which you absolutely cannot afford to have when debuting a new vtuber.

It's going to end up like that sakura taisen mobile game where most of your old audience will pan it as a cynical cash grab and you won't be able to get new audiences because all anyone would know about it is the negative reception.

Seiyuufags can get pretty rabid, and you're underestimating the effort needed to pretend to be someone you aren't for hours on a live stream while multitasking a game or zatsudan, without a script.
Probably better to use their expertise in crafting likeable characters to write new ones based around no-name streamers to minimize personality disconnect, then launch a Type-Moon vtubing setting, and even then I'm not entirely convinced it would work.
