An "all out war" in recruiting male vtubers.
To further prove they're talking about male vtubers, look at Finana's next comment: "yeah it's probably because luxiem/noctyx earn just as much as their successful JP livers". So what she is referring to with that "probably because"? Obviously, the announcement of StarsEN auditions. In other words: "yeah [Cover announced StarsEN auditions] probably because luxiem/noctyx earn just as much as their successful JP livers".
Further, look at Shu's comment about "having [his] hopes up" about applying for the first Hololive auditions. Back during those first auditions, Cover accepted both male and female auditions, so people at the time were thinking they were looking for StarsEN too. But, why would he bring this up "out of the blue"? Because the conversation was about StarsEN auditions.
As for Fulgur, while he was totally out of line with what he said about Council, look at what he said afterwards about male/female separation. Why would he bring that up "out of the blue" like that? Because the topic that was being discussed was StarsEN auditions.
So no, there is no "revisionism" going on, you're just ignore the very obvious context just to push your shitposting narrative.
