Now that vtubing is experiencing its post-Covid decline (in the west at least) they're transitioning to being normal streamers.

a real vtuber starts as a vtuber, gets famous as a vtuber and retires as a vtuber, there's no side gig as a fleshtuber or rl celeb on a different channel.

Why limit yourself to one type of content? You can do so much as a Vtuber but there are just some things that you can't do with a virtual rig. Western watcher also generally care more about the talent then the kayfabe of their vtuber persona. So EN Vtubers don't get much backlash or loss of support for going flesh part time.

This was probably an inevitability in the EN world. People don't care about "idol" stuff around here much at all like they do in Japan. Honestly I think a majority of watchers don't know that VShoujo actually exists as a concept, they only know their Ironmouses and etc. Just gotta give up on 'em once they go that route.

The 'avoid drama' approach and the 'game permissions'(which makes them not hop trend to trend and just play what they like) of hololive would probably separate themselves from those other en vtubers in the long run. No drama baiting/lazy reaction content etc...
It's kinda a unique state to be in, content creation wise especially so since a lot of people pays money watching vtuber streams with no drama especially with all the irl issues and other streamers fighting for each bits of attention to maintain relevance.
