>>73080223VTubing itself is slowly pushing away from the pure "idol" style culture that it once was, and that includes Cover Corp.
Them winning the corpo war is a positive for the hobby at large just because it's showing that VTubing is not purely a drama-infested nightmare, but I think the bigger change is streamer culture essentially taking root in most other VTubing spaces.
VTubing is turning normie. At least, internet normie anyways. Think VShojo. Yes, that's techincally a VTubing corpo, but it really fuctions more like OTK and other streamer alliances than something like Cover/Niji do. THAT is what is driving VTubing growth right now. There will be more corpos of course trying to get the pie but the future is quasi-independence with streamers that act like Twitch personalities. We're already seeing it with Anny, Filian, Vei, etc etc. Notice how they are all Twitch streamers first, avatars second. They do almost all the same things that 5/6 years ago required a big corpo to get a chance in. Respect to Hololive for not being idiotic and chasing away all their talent, but their "dominance" in VTubing has likely already been broken into pieces by the Twitch subculture.
