Yes, I like Idols, and yes, the reason I watch Hololive in particular is the brand and what one would expect of it. Things like what Ollie does is bad for Hololive. Things that Matsuri does, is not. Things that Mori has done (and Kiara gets a lot of shit for) was bad, but hey at least they stopped. I actually do participate in the subculture, being online.
I don't need to be Japanese to enjoy it, just like they don't need to be American to enjoy rock music, or Russian to enjoy icepeak, or Korean to enjoy GSL or K-pop. Crazy, I know.
Believe it or not you can enjoy things without having to exclusively contextualize them in your culture, and, shockingly still, not reduce them down to your garbage mean.
But I guess for someone who can't understand enjoying things for what they are and needing others to see them only their way, instead of letting those things be what they are first last and only, it makes sense you need to lie about other people's perspectives to not shatter your own.
