Back when I did top ranked WoW raiding there were many times where we had a boss we were working on down to a 1 or 2% near the end of raid time and we would just say fuck it as a collective of 25 people and just keep fucking going all night until people had to start going to work and sometimes even keep going at it undermanned because of the very slim chance we might be able to get that server first kill even when missing people. Same type of mentality.
