it seems groomers try to force themselves as somehow :supper duper speshul: vs the other big fans, while of course they're not at all different, just a fan given clout. to this end they try to force an insiders us vs them with the top mods/groomers vs the rest of the random ordinary fans not given special status.
really though what we can see as trends are that
a.) groomers target a girl early, they get in early as being among her first fans
b.) they play the long game, for years if need be but actually had this intention from the start
c.) they try to eliminate the competition aka all the other fans in the girls' mind which makes her turn against everyone else
girls who fall for this tend to be naive or lacking the emotional intellect and perception to notice what's going on, and it costs them fucking dearly eventually.
