The notion that the IRL person and the "avatar"/character should be strictly separated, and the IRL side hidden, is artificial and just because some companies started doing it it became the norm. But there's really no reason for it to be a rule, at all. In fact you have many counter examples, even popular ones like Tamaki, literally having a chat emote of the person's face, or Kson, or honestly many vtubers

its not really possible for the software to fail in the way you are thinking. The software they use isn't recording video just a mask with position markers so there is literally no video feed that can suddenly pop up by accident.

They're streamers not "artists" who they are is what they sell, it's not like many of them takes the character stuff seriously anyway.
