Combine those two facts and you've got a coinflip on any given person having at least 1 connection to someone within their company prior to joining it.
As for why people just don't like the idea in general, it implies that people "cheated" the audition... but we're talking about Vshojo here. They outright said they were opening auditions a couple years ago only to hire Haruka, a close friend at that time. In every other case it makes sense to get mad about it but complaining about nepohires in Vshojo is like complaining about sharks in bloody water.
