That the new Niji-gen getting good subs/views has been talked about, but mostly by tribalfags on both sides. The more moderate takes were to wait and see how they would stabilize in a month.

The last charts also seem to include any type of youtuber, not only vtuber or related. Both top places in the last chart are not what I would consider a vtuber channel but rather a anime-clip and a variety channel. Neither which are things worthy of discussion.
Just feels like a pretty pointless chart desu.

Nijifag here, nijisanji in general focuses on building a culture first and foremost. They don’t really focus on superchats for the most parts but when it comes to huge events like nijisanji koushien and that extremely god tier AR live, they put in all the stops and bring all the watchers together since for the most part, most people don’t see nijisanji as a cohesive group per say but a network of talents.

Also since 2019 enikara focused on building their own tech which is paying off in a huge ass way.

For example they had to say twice that the Ar tech they used was in house. They use the 3D events and lives as an advertisement for their tech too.

You can pin point when enikara decided to focus their investments on their 3D tech with hayatos 3D debut. Shit was a crazy showcase and since then they always advanced their tech.

Cover models in general look better in pictures but nijisanji ones are much better in motion and have better rigging. Except for some outliers like Towa, I dont know how she does it but her 3d model moves so well. Its magical.

I don't know about much better in motion. Even in the Kanae example somebody posted you could see his arm bending in unnatural ways. Compare that with Miko's 3D live yesterday and Cover's models looks much better. Miko looked so good.

That Miku entrance and then Gumi entrance are something otherwordly. There was no RTX back then but what they lacked in tech they exceeded in quality

And the song: it's like you made a PERFECT mashup between Hololive and Nijisanji flagship songs (imagine a mashup of Ahoy with whatever best song Nijis have in their repertoire) and it came out better than either.

The whole show is amazing too. I watched my share of Holo 3D lives and there isn't a single one that holds a candle to that particular one

I don't think Niji's AR tech was something new or amazing though. Pretty sure there are better looking AR out there so I don't believe they would try and sell it. Renting it, however, is a possibility since JP vtubers needs a place to do their own concerts and things without having to fork out large amounts of cash. On top of that, I can see Sony's vtuber branch using their tech since their music branch already poured millions in investment for the AnyKara.

But yeah, I still don't understand why would they built their own in-house AR stage when maintenance, upgrades and experienced employees are expensive. They could get more worth by renting the tech out from a legit tech company/game studio for the AR since they do big concerts like this once or twice in a month. They're also losing in popularity/potential profits against their competitor. The tech might turn worthless in 2 or 3 years.

Let's be real here, do they really need to perform live in a live concert? The Niji AR concert was performed live and they wasted a lot of time training for it because they can't afford to mess up on the stage. Seems pretty inefficient to me. While in pre-record concert, they can just make the whole thing sounds and looks better with little to no effort, not to mention pre recording each cuts separately and redoing the bad cuts. The end result will be the same anyway, people are dumb, they'll eat anything up.

All in all, even I'm not even that knowledgeable in this whole business, either renting or making your own in-house stage is worth it. My assumption is that they could at least turn back those investments in the tech in 3-5 years. I'd rather have them invest in whatever tech Melody has that could make her 3D all the time and the room.

Honestly, I feel like the tech investment is kind of a waste. It's not really used outside of vtuber/vsinger, and even inside of Nijisanji, they don't use it often enough to justify the investment. For comparison's sake, Cover's big investment in 2020 was in global expansion, and they're now the world's most popular vtuber group. Ichikara should have looked at Kizuna Ai as an example first, who despite having the best "tech", is now dwindling in popularity.

She needs to settle on the time slot and stick to it. If I was her, I'd pick 4 stream days on and off and stream twice those days. So eight streams for her to do whatever and have three days offline for everything else.

Prelude was a huge disappointment.
Any sort of tangible foreshadowing would have made it a talking point within the fandom for the week.
People are interested in the horror thing, the song that comes with it on the website is pretty nice.

Hololive is a huge brand now and the larger audience opens them up to closer scrutiny. They can't just recruit any old rando and let them debut with no guidance or training.

well that late august date might actually make sense then. As weve seen from Coco graduation month, the biggest hype is only maintained by about two weeks, more than that and it starts dropping.
So at this phase they just want to build awareness that they are cooking something up, but not hype yet. They should drop the biggest announcement at maybe the 15th, have them debut on 21-22th, and first streams on that free week of 23th august.
All just my speculation of course.

Do you think Cover will debut a male HoloEN member? They could beat Niji to get the female western weeb market.
After all, they also debuted HoloEN first and were able to corner the international market. And Holostars already has a sizeable EOP fanbase so they've already gained some initial ground there compared to Niji

What is Cover doing wrong with them in the current moment? In the past it was messed up, but aside from fucked up 2.0 they're getting advertised along the girls, having collabs, entering tournaments with Hololive girls, and are all getting 3D and doing cover songs often. Some of the girls have shit rigging too so it's not a gender discrepancy thing.

You're right but I do think there's value in being first to something. Cover can easily get the female EOP market since they already have great brand recognition in the west through Hololive unlike Niji who is still establishing their EN branch. It seems to me like a wasted opportunity

i just don't know if it's a good idea to debut EN males and potentially shift the focus of the fanbase. of course we have no way to know how it would go because it never happened, it's just my own personal opinion that things are good as they are for now.

Cover beat Niji to the punch with their international expansion and now they own the western market. It helped them become bigger than Niji.

They managed to expand internationally thanks to azurlane collabs, memes (the miko nigga moment and the matsuri bandaids) blowing up and that chink channel pumping subs until they folded but they already did their purpose.
