It’s been oversaturated for at least a few years. I really don’t see any breakout companies being likely as opposed to individual talents, and the mindshare of the present empire is simply too encompassing to not hold fears that said talents aren’t on the radar of poachers.

Like anything that expands rapidly, you eventually run out of costumers to entice and you're stretched too thin. Operational costs become an issue. This would be less of a problem if more of the tubers graduated more regularly so you had a fresh cycle of talent coming in.

This should come as no surprise, this is how all social media works and the art/entertainment industry as well. All these industries depend on fame and attention, and fame is inherently a scarce resource. The more famous people you have the more fame is divided up and the less money each content creator gets. Not everyone can be famous or popular at the same time. It’s always a giant pyramid with a small group of well known creators at the top getting the vast majority of the money.
