Male vtubers can't just roleplay a LARGER THAN LIFE fictional character like the girls can (pekora/subaru/korone/miko are like LITERAL LIVING ANIME GIRLS DOING REALITY ANIME, that's the appeal).
The girls can do THAT with just being silly/fun/cute but male LARGER THAN LIFE characters are all action/visual oriented.
They are supposed to do a goku/naruto, but you can't do thAT with... chatting? Singing? Videogames? Even the comedian guys like cromartier/gintama rely on the ambient and visual gags mostly.
Streaming media is not really compatible with male anime characters, the only compatible thing is being a gay idol for the fujos,a niche market.
Anyhing else and you are just a "normal streamer with a anime avatar", what's the point?
