It was ok. The AI probably needs some time to find its personality and respond to chat in a more meaningful way. I'm mostly in support because her artist and rigger is a vtuber I like.

I respect the grind, but there is no dethroning the king, and unless Vedal completely screws her up for good (and the community will give him a long leash regarding that), there is still no competition.

It's not hard to do better than him on the bot front, fine-tuning Llama3 8B would get you a bot that would blow Neuro out of the water for any bot intelligence benchmark and be faster. The problem is building an equivalent infrastructure that the bot can do everything Neuro can like singing, playing games in a limited fashion, and etc. and giving it a personality people will like which isn't half charming and schizo which Neuro already took. And most of the bot makers stop after a while or do it too infrequently. I do believe eventually there will be competition but no one is touching Neuro for now.

It's inevitable really, although AIs can definitely be tuned to have distinctive personalities etc so they'll still feel distinct and people will still have favorites.

I just wonder what would happen if a corpo (or anyone with capital really) hired several coders to make an AI chuuba much more advanced than Neuro. Even if she was rather lifelike, it's Neuro's glitches and non-sequiturs that make her liked by the audience, if she was perfectly lifelike people would be like "wow that's impressive! she's kinda boring though."

I believe you can make a AI Vtuber that has a charming and soulful personality that doesn't depend on glitches that would be able to attract people at this current moment, some of the role plays people do are really advanced and pretty close to that even if most of the logs I see is coom material. But the problem is that the work and money you would need to invest to do that for the programmers needed, you can make much better money literally doing anything else with AI publicly using those programmers and it's only the shitters left like me as a one man shop who is doing it as a hobby using the basic tools to try and scrounge something up together. And like most of those people, I'm trying to actually upskill so I don't want to invest in Vtubing. Until it becomes easy to do that for people with the skills who are content with being NEET in some capacity like Vedal, Neuro is still going to reign supreme.
