>>7493555>>7504509/hlgg/ has no reason to exist in /vt/. It makes no sense to have a Global thread for the largest company in the medium on a board dedicated to it. /hlgg/ was created as a containment thread on /jp/ so vtubers wouldn't overrun the board. That is completely unnecessary on /vt/. There's no reason to post on /hlgg/ when you could post on an oshi thread where there are people who will be interested in the topic instead of having to compete with 50 other fanbases for space and visibility.
Not just that, but it decreases the quality of the board as having one thread makes sure that random bait threads will stay up longer, oshi threads have less traffic (i.e. even less discussion for smaller holos) and people who would otherwise be restricted to oshi threads end up in bait threads. And from another perspective, it also doesn't allow for particular cultures to form around specific vtubers, instead having a single Global mesh where, again, everything is ultimately ruled by the majority that is two fandoms. That, on top of the resentment that naturally forms when people are forced together.
It should tell you everything about Global that they still call any other thread besides themselves (read: an entire board, plus the /jp/ threads) "split" threads. That thread is still mentally stuck in /jp/.
