She was, paraphrasing her own words here, trying to catch a ride on the lewd indie vtuber wave when it was REALLY popular. And when THAT didn't work she eventually went back to her old model, which didn't work either because she'd already essentially told her original audience to fuck off if they didn't like the "new direction" she would be going in; and, as people are well aware of at this point, fans tend to do exactly that to find greener pastures when they're told that they're basically no longer wanted and are left with no other options.
