I've got a weird username that people usually ask me how to pronounce and the fact she said it perfectly the first time made me think maybe I've watched her before, but none of her voices ring any bells.

Was it one of those groups like Atelier Live or Mythic Live where it's just some friends/associates, or an actual org? If its the former then I've got no clue and it's just a coincidence.

Honestly looking through the archives gets me nowhere and usually I'm good at archival.
I'm going to support her simply because she's goddamn cute as hell and plays niche games I like, plus she has voice training.

Here is the order of operations:

Best way to get a chuuba to talk is to ask them to talk about something. Like if someone says something in a game reminds them of a movie or book they like, or didn't like, ask them what they did or didn't like about it, or how it reminded them if they didn't explain. Then just ask follow-up questions about that topic and you've easily filled ten minutes or more of airtime. If they ask you for your opinion, you can reply with something simple and turn the question back on them. It takes practice, but it's not difficult to get practice with hundreds of chuubas to talk to.

Kek. Speaking of that, I once clipped a moment where Yozo was playing RE Village and compared the merchant's hand gestures to the happy merchant. The clip was up for like half a day before it disappeared, and she mentioned in a later stream that "someone" had clipped it and sounded mildly annoyed. Why? Unless your clips suck or capture yabs, I know for a fact they appreciate clippers. My oshi has reposted at least one of mine on her Twitter, and another was featured by some clip channel and got her a little exposure. Both chuubas and content channels will often browse their Twitch clips to see if any of their fans captured good moments.

You don't have to. Don't feel obligated, most people don't clip at all. Just know that if you want to, chuubas do actually look at them and sort through them. If you don't want to be recognized, then of course it would be a bad idea. I don't give a fuck though, like I said, my clips have been noticed by my oshi multiple times and still I've never appeared in any of the back alley viewer lists and nobody seems to know I exist. Only chuubas seem to pay much attention to who clips what.

Don't feel pressure to be a "good viewer", do what you want. The chuuba is there to entertain you and not the other way round. Remember this. A good chuuba is happy if they're making you happy, which is why they appreciate such things as chatters and clippers. It just shows engagement. I do as a viewer, but only because I feel mildly competitive over whose clips get more views than mine. It's usually super dumb/coomer moments that get the most views, btw. Sometimes not even that, it's just a moment that happened to be shared more widely for whatever reason and isn't even remarkable. Clipping is basically a gacha roll, I've found.

You don't have to be a "good viewer", but if you have a creative outlet or hobby that you use to support the streamer(s) you like, they're usually very appreciative of it. I'd say only make stuff for chuubas if you want an excuse to make stuff, but if it feels like "free work" then just watch streams and enjoy it.

I don't think it makes sense to raid sideways or a little upwards if you're concerned with growth. Just be active in the bigger streamer's chat and you can raid them. But it's also nice to raid friends.

Yeah, I like bringing the raid to friends when possible. I think that helps with growth too, though, even if not as directly. Your own viewers and those of your friend's may be different, and if the streamers you're friendly with think well of you, it's possible that you could end up the recipient of a raid from a larger streamer they know that you don't know.

Mostly I just like bringing my viewers to streams that I personally want to watch.

So what's everyone's thoughts in general on raiding upward? How far is too far?

My last stream, I raided with 9, but only five of us were active in chat (one was my partner, on their phone but asleep), so only five posting the raid message. We raided someone with a chat of 15, so slightly bigger, but not that much difference.

Obviously, raiding Ironmouse with ten people is clout-chasing. Even if you love her stuff, you'd be better doing a shadow-raid instead. But is a raiding party of 5-10 reasonable to send to someone who's got 50 watchers? Or 100? Does it change if you're a sub on the channel you're raiding?

Looking for any advice, because I don't want to look like I'm trying to force my way in on things, but I don't follow many people the same size as me, and most of them are shit.

You can't really look at it like it's a binary problem of X or Y because there are countless factors involved:

When during the stream are you raiding?

Is that person you're raiding someone who's good at welcoming raiders?

Do they appreciate all raids or are they wary of cloutchasers?

etc.

What the amount of people raiding is is certainly one aspect, but I've seen people in the low double digits raiding people in the mid triple and still get a heartfelt thank you, while the opposite has been almost ignored.

It depends on what kind of a person the raidee is, I guess. This isn't the first time LetaniaBelladone has raided Nina either and I think they know each other?

As someone close with people that are significantly bigger than me (Think in the hundreds) I can guarantee you that they don't fucking care. People here tend to overthink things but these large chuubas aren't worried about the weird mental gymnastics and mind games you're playing with yourselves in your own heads. A raid is a raid.

It's not even a small bubble, I've been friends (and in other cases acquaintances) with a decent amount of larger chuuba for a few years now with literally hundreds of viewers, no one fucking cares. No one thinks you're a leech unless you're actively make yourself look like a leech. "most bigger streamers" do not give a fuck. In the nicest way possible, you're a nobody to them.

No one fucking cares. Hell, I've seen some shout out people after stream on Twitter or raid back if it's someone whose content they enjoy. I've had it happen to me as well. You guys overthink this shit and get in your own heads, just stop and do what you want. Your actions aren't as relevant as you think and have little to no real impact on these people.

And asking how their stream went and what they did can help them get looked at if they are cool about it (but it's also understandable if people don't wanna chat after a stream)
