>>75439688Doesn't Japan's anti-defamation law have an exception for the good of the general public?
Like, for example, if a company is advertising another company's energy drink to high school students, and in the advertisement the first company talks about mixing the energy drink in a 1:1 mix with soju. And if, hypothetically, something like that happened, and the Japanese government stepped in to say that mixing energy drinks with alcohol is an incredibly bad idea. And then the company which makes the energy drink issues a statement saying that it's a bad idea to do use their product in the way the advertising company suggested.
Say something like that happened. Would it be allowable under Japanese law for third parties to say that it happened, without being sued for defamation by the advertising company?
