You either continue collabing with who you want accepting the fact that some of your fans won't want to support you any more or you try to reassure the people who might leave, either by stating it'll be a one time thing. Or you actually ask your fans in advance if they're fine with it or not and react accordingly.
You should probably look up the definition of "hostage". People are not morally obligated nor can they be forced to continue to support someone who will produce content or interact with people that they dislike.
