I just think it doesn't work, it reduces the aura of high energy she has. I have nothing against long hair, but there's a time and place for it. Short hair girls should stick to short hair, long hair girls should stick to long hair.

It works pretty well with her casual outfit but that's just because of the general feminization of the outfit, it kinda clashes with her other more boy-ish outfits

Yeah I agree, I never felt comfortable looking at long hair Subaru. Always feels like she has a wig. Maybe her short hair is just part of her character, life dwafs and long beards.

Subaru, being an anime character, doesn't exactly have enough unique defining visual characteristics that she can even sustain much variation.
Basically, if you change her hair, she looks like a different character. Practically not Subaru at all. If you changed her hair and eyes, she IS a different character.
