I routinely tuned in to Kirsche's streams to check her out because I knew her through few collabs she did with Pippa. I used to be a big Pippa fan but dropped her for things unrelated to any of this or politics. On the low end let's say I tuned in to Kirsche about 20 times, 50 on the high end. This was across a year. In all occasions, every single one, her stream would be about her commenting on some current day event, a controversy or person or general political topic. Without fail the woman in question would talk about politics and politics only and explicitly.
Her politics are irrelevant to the discussion on my end. What matters is that vtubing must and should be apolitical and open to us all, because we as the audience are merely Chat or Anons under pseudonyms. Our identity begins and ends in our relation to the chuuba and her corpo. There is a "we" here but this sense of community is unrelated to who you are, where you are from, and most importantly what you believe in politically and/or religiously. Usually people and sometimes the chuuba herself finds it interesting if you're from some obscure country or region, but that's about it. What does this mean? It means vtubing and vtubing fans are an organic community. We don't need to "take a side" or "have a stance" since we are already a truly global fanbase, and a truly "diverse" group of people united by a common interest. The introduction of politics - any politics - is a direct danger to vtubing precisely because of that. Politics have no place in vtubing. The whole medium MUST be apolitical for it to have value to us all. And what Americans tend to forget is that a lot of us, be we eurofags or from somewhere else have no interest or stake in american politics or your retarded culture wars. Left or right your politics and all politics are inherently divisive, and at their mildest just totally uninteresting and unrelated to vtubing. Nobody is censoring anyone for having an opinion, and if a chuuba has an opinion and shares it organically people just accept it, agree or disagree, but if it came about organically it's just an opinion. Saying "Man we should have stricter gun laws" or "We should be more strict with criminals" while playing GTA or something is an opinion. Arguably political, but not the main focus, draw or even the topic.
Kirsche's entire schtick is right wing politics. Her whole content is just political commentary and grifting in the same vein a shitload of right wing public media figures do or used to do. It's barely vtubing, it's vtubing as a mere gimmick. I see her actions as antagonistic towards vtubing as a whole, and Offkai seems to have as well - and that's good. Nobody is censoring her because she has her channel and all of that, but if you chose that path then you have to roll with the punches and recognize that you're a marginal figure in vtubing. The same applies to leftists and all politically motivated people. None of them regardless of spectrum give a single shit about entertainment, media, fun. Yes, leftism destroyed Western entertainment but I'm not going to pretend right wing politics wouldn't either. It's all the same rendering of things into shit. Be it a soccer mom or a troon, the effect on media is always poison. Culture always suffers when directed by something outside of it as a standard. Anime and manga are dominating precisely because they are for everyone and have no agenda. That's what we should expect and demand from vtubing, or at the very least GOOD vtubing.
Kirsche intentionally tried to drag Pippa into this by mentioning her and no, going "But don't say I mentioned her tee hee pero :P" isn't not mentioning her. Sadly, Pippa has a great quantity of leftovers from kiwi and similar garbage sites who are for some inexplicable reason convinced she's some sort of right wing goddess, when the actual Pippa just laughs at things and occasionally has an opinion that may or may not deviate from the norm. Sometimes it's a retarded woman opinion, sometimes it's clever. Because she's an actual person and not a political mouthpiece. But that portion of her audience has overlap with "based" nonsense like Kirsche, and Kirsche tried to rope them and by proxy Phase Connect into fighting her retarded culture war. Kirsche also knew Phase is backing Offkai. So I am led to believe, and I do, that this was a calculated effort by Kirsche to use Pippa as a kind of weapon or useful idiot and effectively hijack our whole fucking corpo for her retarded ends. This is cause for personal hatred towards her from me. I'm assuming she saw how Doki and Mint "benefited" from drama and wanted to engineer some for herself, without realizing that in those two cases and in Doki's in particular things got so immeasurably vile that everyone was disgusted. This cynical woman, this Kirsche, tried to recreate a situation where she's a victim by engineering it from nothing, or to be precise from the logical conclusion to her own actions.
