I never considered listening to Polka until I heard snippets of her covers from this one channel that lists the most listened Hololive songs each week. I gotta say, her cover of Envy Baby is fucking AMAZING. It's a perfect blend of high energy insanity and obsessive love, which (if my lurking here suggests) sums up Polka. Great stuff.

I don't think she actually expected to hit 1M considering how no one else in the company had hit that mark at the time, it was just a fun "what-if". She's probably pleased where she is now.

Same anon who wrote >>7614438. I took the time to listen to other covers of Envy Baby and Polka's is definitely the best by far. She's singing at a higher pitch then most others (I don't want to say it's an octave higher but the difference is substantial) and at this pitch it fits better with the beat and vibe of the song. She also sings the lyrics with so much more energy than others. For example, when she says "Aishiteru" in the chorus she makes it hit so much fucking harder than any over cover of the song. Lastly, her voice is a perfect match for the song. It doesn't come off as constantly cute (oh god Roboco this cover was just not for you...) but she is able to turn it off and on. Like in the second verse you can hear she is trying to sound cute and then she switches back to her regular voice for the chorus, which adds to the playfulness of the song. And speaking of playfulness, I loved how she was rolling her R's in certain places. This song was a match made in heaven for Polka and she absolutely nailed it. I hope you guys are proud of your oshi because as a casual observer, I am throughly impressed

We talk about it here but Polka has one of the largest ranges that she can atleast sing at a proficient level in. Most holos have ~3 octave range while Polka has 5, maybe 6. The difference though is some of those octaves are a lot better than others (and it has nothing to do with how high/low the octave is)
