>>7654710NTA, but Irys's performance is about what you would expect if you actually watched her. Just because someone gets a big head start does not mean they can retain that audience forever, just look at the new Nijis.
>Even Kiara was doing better than Irys is now at the same point in their careersOne month in, Gura was getting 60k among us streams and 40k+ solo solo streams. Call it youtube viewer bug, viewer algo change, vtuber fad fading in the west...etc, the numbers for ENs nowadays are nowhere near the numbers during the time of HoloEN's first few months, which was when vtubing peaked in hype for the west. Expecting Irys to continually get 15-20k+ every stream when even Gura doesn't guarantee 20k nowadays is just absurd.
>For somebody that had a big, special solo debut that was teased with a unique reveal trailerLiterally doesn't mean anything. Irys had a big start and then retained what she could. It doesn't matter if 90k people watched her debut if her quality as a streamer is in the 7-10k range (15-20k for karaoke).
>Especially considering she can appeal to EOPs and JOPs alikeShe speaks like 10% japanese during her streams and JPs would rather watch HoloJP when she streams during JP times.
>the foundation that she's building on (HoloEN, hololive's most successful group to date).By that logic, Gen 5 should do better than Gen 4 and all the gens before, but it doesn't work like that.
Like you're not really shitting on her, but you gotta be realistic. Do you watch Irys and think she can pull in 12k+ viewers for game streams? I like her, but she's just not that kind of streamer.
