The games also often don't appropriately show how fucked everything is. If you read the terminals non vault people often die around age 30, the wood from the trees is irradiated, there is barely any clean water, you can't eat any animals without poisoning yourself, there are raider and cannibal settlements all over the nation....Imagine building a log cabin and then dying after 4 years from living inside a building made from wood that sucked up irradiated water for 20 years.
