It's a widespread issue. Most chuubas don't talk about it because "respect muh artists", but people fuck off, miss deadlines, some straight up ghost clients. It's one of the struggles of being an indie. And if you do the math there are very few high profile artists willing to work in the vtuber industry and only a fraction of them will touch indies.
Usually a company should help with this by holding the artists feet to the fire and having a list of trusted creators, but we're talking about Nijisanji here.

I saw a clip of Pippa saying she hired SEA artists since they actually have a more competitive and saturated market, so they have to provide a good product with punctuality if they want to get hired again. Kirsche also said that she will put a clause saying if the artist doesn't deliver on time she will charge back on any contracts she does from now on.
