just make sure you like the therapist -- there are plenty of insane ones out there.
honestly i use a good friend of mine as a therapist of sorts. we have no real boundries with each other, talk about anything, and i make it clear how much i love and appreciate him. because of that mutual care and trust it feels very fulfilling whenever we talk. i suppose the most major filter with therapy is if you're an actually good person, or wish to become one. if you have no desire to be a good person then you're likely not going to say what you've done and think, for obvious reasons.
learn to give in to the good within you and trust you can be good. then, when the truth of your mind is given to others, you won't be cast aside if they know your actions. you don't have to praise yourself, just do good.
