Western vtubing always was for and about normies. And people on an American image board having an influence on real vtubing in Japan would be the exact situation you theoretically are trying to avoid. Probably the former because the latter can't even succeed without the former being there in the first place.
This was already proven with twitch whores and other vtuber-in-name-only fleshgrifters trying to slide into the vtubing sphere and utterly failing for the longest time.
Only recently has it become an increasing issue thanks in no small part to Griftmouse doing her best to turn vtubing into "mainstream twitch" 2.0
