because they think its a broader word for vtubers in a whole for some reason. The use of the word has been done to death that it has lost its meaning since it used to be about people acting out virtual characters on youtube. Now its just an animated persona on any platform (due to the amount of people just making their mascots or OCs into 'vtubers' and how people tie the person behind the avatar to the real person, instead of seeing them as actors)

Funny enough, Apple actually tried suing a podcast in their early days because of the use of the term 'pod.' This led some folks to use the term 'netcast,' but it was one of those things where the name was already established and Apple backed down so the name stuck.
