Would they have been just as big or bigger if they debuted in another corpo (phase, niji, vshojo)

I really can't have seen them successful in any other situation but the current one. They already tried their hand at being small corpo and that failed spectacularly for them.

It really took them honing their skills and unique streaming style with a huge corpo for them to break through.

Thenagain according to the IR report, Fuwamoco is literally counted as one person and likely paid as one person, too. So maybe they were just cutting costs.

At the risk of Doxposting, their PL was basically them playing as 2 sister characters from a real Visual Novel about a Tourist coming to japan. (Go Go Nippon)
They were basically brand chuubas, like The netflix or crunchyroll ones.

Their PL had the same setup and style as their current holo incarnation, but had bad quality models, audio setups, and were from a time when small corpos were more or less ignored by the wider vtuber community, so they were 2views up until graduation.

NTA, they were VERY dedicated to even that job though. They were constantly posting on reddit shilling themselves and were even /here/ sometimes. I remember vaguely hearing about them too from time to time, even as small as they were. They also didn't even have the weird accents until a while in and it was something they worked to somehow learn for some reason.
They worked their little doggy asses off and finally got noticed by holo in the auditions. True cinderella story.

Yeah, it kind of sucks IMO as it re-enforces the theory that you arent considered innovative or worth watching until you join a big corpo, but they made it and are doing better than ever thanks to their hard work and detication so I have no right to complain.

The blue dorito buff is crazy btw. Shiori's PL got exposure from collabing with the biggest vtubers on Twitch and after years she was still barely a 3view.
