>>77526Yes and no. This anon is putting too much weight on the worst aspects of the vtuber phenomenon.
Of course all of the stuff he says happens, no one in their right mind can deny it. But, for the most part, it's mostly a bunch of people who enjoy anime, games and cute girls. I think no small part of the current popularity of vtubers is because of the community aspect of it. This kind of staff can rally a lot of people very quickly.
>woman using 3D models to pretend to be children and cater to pedosThis is one hard to argue. The 'youth' aspect of the entire anime fandom certainly plays into his argument. Catering to actual pedos could certainly be a thing, but I'm convinced that most vtubers who use more "loli" models don't actually want pedos. They're banking on the cuteness appeal of their characters.
>fake emotions, grunts, etcAren't all streamers doing this? I feel like it's part of the appeal of watching streamers. Amplifying emotions is nothing wrong, especially when you consider that streamers are entertainment.
>nervous singingGotta agree a lot of vtubers can't really sing. However, no one says this can't be fun to watch. As for the "filling dead air" part, I can certainly see myself not wanting to have dead. I'm sure that, as entertainers, vtubers and streamers as a whole want their streams to be as fun as possible.
>"Dancing"This is reaching. Yes they are moving because they are probably jamming to the music currently playing. But I've never seen or heard a vtuber using their Live2D model to "dance", unless it's designed for it or fully 3D. No Live2D vtuber actually does "dance" streams.
>Pretending to be lewd and rudeAgain, this is reaching. Unless we can go inside a vtuber's head to know their full likes, dislikes and intentions, we'll never know if they're pretending or not. Although I can say that some vtubers certainly do it more to cater to people, this is certainly not the case of all vtubers, not even a majority.
>Needing to form massive groups of charactersThis can certainly be an argument, but if there's demand for it, I don't see how it can be wrong or bad. And content not being able to stand on its own is certainly a very subjective opinion.
