During Sajam Slam, one of her teammates implied Dokibird is either a millionaire already or close, and Dokibird didn't deny it. She's also mentioned that she's made a lot more money in merch than anything else. So i decided to just do some rough calculations to see whether she actually might be a millionaire and how much a Top 10 EN Indie actually makes:
>> Comparison point: As Selen Tastuki she spent 200k CAD on projects and barely broke even, but after analysing the facts her income was likely closer to 300k CAD because the statement doesn't include things like cost of living, insurance etc.
With that out of the way let's analyze Dokibird's financials for the past 6 months:
1.Ad Revenue: https://vt.poi.cat/vtuber/dokibird
>> 29 million views, increasing daily by 118k
>> Most common YT monetization range is 50-60k USD, using 55k USD for calculation
Total up to June: ~$55k USD
2. Superchats/Donations: https://playboard.co/en/channel/UComInW10MkHJs-_vi4rHQCQ/superchat
>> Easy to see, but doesn't factor Member streams, where people donate more
>> Using public figures, around 116k USD, plus some from Streamlabs (info not accessible but i remember it being at least $20k USD)
Total up to June: ~$136k USD
3. Memberships and Subs: https://twitchtracker.com/dokibird/subscribers |
>> During Selen Shock, got 5k Twitch subs, now averages 1k subs
>> With average tier 1 sub at $5, that's $5000 USD per month, likely covers living expenses
>> Average Monthly: ~$5000 USD
>> Total up to June: $49k USD (likely less due to regional pricing)
>> YouTube members are harder to estimate, but using engagement metrics lowest possible is 4k members and more likely 8k members so I'd place the average around 6k members at $5 each
>> That's $30k USD per month (~less due to YT cut and regional pricing)
>> Average Monthly: ~$30,000 USD
Total up to June: $199k USD (likely less due to regional pricing)
4. Sponsorships: (taken from various tweets Doki has made herself)
>> Gamersupps, Paid Watchalongs, Apex Sponsorship, Hyte, Fortnite code, Convention appearances
>> Fortnite code gave her 2000 USD in a month, Gamersupps indirectly gave 8k for WaifuCup and Wrestletuber
>> Estimate Idol Corp paid Dokibird 5k-10k USD using this https://www.reddit.com/r/Twitch/comments/ye2f6m/how_to_price_twitch_sponsorships_overview_pricing/
>> New PC, Hardware etc
Total value of known sponsorships: at least $25k USD
5. Merch - this is the wildcard:
>> Doki stated that initial merch drop made more money than everything else combined
>> Once all the logistics are setup, could potentially be 60-70% of TOTAL income
Total of everything excluding merch: $415k USD
Total assuming merch matches: $830k USD = CA$1,134,947.70
TLDR: Dokibird might actually be a millionaire in Canadian terms *already* (before taxes and various cuts). I've seen a lot of bait threads and uneducated rrats about income (especially for the ex-nijis) but I've realised very few people on this board actually watch streams or realize that mid 4views are all actually rich as fuck. I also haven't done the maths for Mint yet but everyone saying she should join a small corpo just for 3D performances is genuinely retarded.
