It can be both. Oversaturated in the industry sense, sparse in the HoloEN sense considering half of the branch is usually busy/on vacation/taking a health break at any given time. EN was fucking dying until Advent came along and kept up consistent streaming and pushed some of the basic shit like raiding(seriously why the fuck wasn't anyone doing this before Advent this is a huge factor in growth and nobody did it is everyone just clueless?)

Same, i think they can afford to support another gen just fine without diluting the pool too much. Only real game players they have are fauna and biboo, everyone else is a fairweather game player. LIke they play games but they dont know games well.

I will never understand how anyone wants to keep track of more than 2-3 vtubers at once
a typical vtuber stream is like, 2-4 hours at least. someone that likes streaming will typically do 3-5 streams a week. at 2-3 vtubers where you watch their streams semi-regularly, that's already way too much content to watch all of it and still have other hobbies

That's the only reasonable explination I have for their high subscriber count but low as fuck live viewers whenever they stream. Their subscribers aren't real people, just chink bots.

Fauna mostly gained rep there not because of numbers but because she was the only one streaming consistently during the darkest period of Holo EN.
There's definitely the mindset of liking high numbers (first army etc.) but it doesn't fully dictate personal preferences. Smaller chuubas get discussed and liveposted there too. Until /news/ showed up, /#/ was also the best place to read up on any vtuber related news, regardless of their size. They have clear bias for Hololive and some specific Holo talents but it is possible to get some solid info on others too.
