It's just that their backstories and archetypes often don't come into play given that their content is relatively family friendly and buy the book, which is why they're far stronger conceptually than in reality. Actual anime characters based in them would be far more intriguing to watch, if only because it would focus on their trials and tribulations as opposed to their vtubing itself.
