With this result, it is safe to say Gura lost all or most of her fans now, twice lower than Ina. And it started with her changing profile pic and banner for a new beginning too. A new beginning started with an underperformed stream and continuing.
Im starting to think Gura nendo out of stock faster than Marine is not because she is more popular but they just order limit to much lower amount then.

I do think VODs is important but after many examples, even if they are higher, you have to admit that Gura dont have that many fans compared to Ina when Gura VODs, while higher, are on a decline.

It's very likely to be 150k. They already got 135k for the draft stream a few weeks ago and 65k for the preview stream last night. Don't forget that this is going to be 6-8 hour stream, so even if they don't get the numbers right away, they'll eventually get there.

It is kinda funny that Hololive is known as the full-time streamer company whereas Niji is the casual part-time streamer company, but they pull off so many more 8+ hour full-company collab streams. Guess having a 100+ liver roster helps too.

The uncomfortable truth is, I'm not sure if there are any non-FOTM games that do consistently well in the EN market apart from Minecraft and FPS games (Apex/Valorant). Maybe something like Rust or GTAV online RP? Just chatting has been the most popular "game" on Twitch for years now, but some girls like Gura and Ame are allergic to setting up actual talk streams and would rather heavily nerf themselves by calling them "superchat readings". For every holoEN member, minecraft is almost always the stream that gets them their best numbers, apart from Karaokes ofc.

Other non-FOTM games that do well are horror games and RE games that haven't been played to death. Platformers, roguelites, metroidvania, card games, JRPGs, retro games always do poorly. The EN audience does not have the stomach for kusoges, like those simple RPG maker games HoloJPs play, that the JPs do so they can't just copy HoloJP all the time.

You're probably right. A lot of the twitch gaming streams are pretty fragmented in what people will watch. You have specialists that do relatively well (Speed runners, challenge runs, etc) and platformers really depend on the player being skilled to be entertaining beyond one or two streams.

Gura on the other hand seems to be playing a different game every single stream. She could have a go to with rhythem games and DBD which are things she is actually really good at, but she hasn't played either of those in a while. I think she should be doing, for example, Project Diva challenge runs where she works to perfect every song in the game. People would tune in for that because she is damn good in the game and its a tangible goal that the audience can follow along with. She could also be doing DBD viewer games and playing with her audience sort of like how Miko plays with 35p in GTA Online. I will admit that Minecraft isn't the buff for EN the same way it is for JP due to lack of members but hopefully that changes with Gen 2 and they get more members on the server.

Ya, but not just Gura. Ame has Minecraft/Apex and Ina has drawing/Minecraft, but Kiara, Calli and Irys still need to find their niche or play more minecraft.

Rhythm games(Project Diva/Muse Dash) could have been Gura's equivalent of Suisei's tetris, but chinese devs revoked Muse Dash permissions and Project Diva is a bitch to plan. DBD actually got pretty strong numbers for her, probably because she knows how to play the game + can zatsu while playing, but she stopped playing it for some reason. At the risk of saturating it and making them less special, Gura should honestly do biweekly or monthly karaoke streams like Suisei, and start some long-term Minecraft project so she has a reason to play it weekly.

From what she's saying in her SC readings, it doesn't seem like getting good numbers are her top priority, she's more focused on finishing old bad-number games like DMC3 and Super Metroid. That means the numbers are probably gonna be rough for the rest of August.

Also, I didn't think people would reply to my question who gets the most fan arts, Kuzuha or any hololive member. The numbers is as difficult as trying to find numbers for the two company's merch sales. To get the real numbers of an individual vtuber fan art is to get numbers from a lot of places not just twitter. I don't expect for someone to actually get the numbers, although it's surprising that Kuzuha gets more fanarts on twitter.

Both Niji/Holo have them, but that's not where the actual difference comes from anyways. JP artists who have done one of the two are likely to have at least one piece of art from the other also. CN/KR/EN artists however, are far more likely to have only done Hololive. Exhentai is also painfully incomplete as a measure of nsfw fanart anyways.

Nah, its because this was simply a prep stream and she stated as much with a tweet. No. Even the PV having been made was only because, like with most things Cover, it was done by fans (very talented world class industry pros, but fans nonetheless) doing it for their oshi, either for free or likely charging only “time and materials”.

It all started with an art director for one of the Fate series anime throwing a “hey Tanigo, can I make something for Hololive anime haha” on Twitter last years April and Tanigo replying “onegaishimasu”

Actually, while the original idea started out as a fan project, they contracted quite a few famous big names to work on it, including the studio and most of the staff that worked on the FGO trailers. Even if the guys in charge were willing to do the work for the cost of "time and materials" there's no way they'll be able to convince their staff to do the same, so cover almost definitely paid fair market price for the PV. At best they'll get a small discount but at the prices we are talking about it's pretty insignificant.

From my understanding of animes, they're usually created to promote the source i.e LN, manga or a book. Zombieland saga, Love live or Aikatsu all had animes. Obscure LNs like log horizon, knights and magic etc had animes. Hololive has that potential to be big for an anime since not only they had acquired a JP audience, but also a global audience. Not to mention, isekai idol dream hasn't been made yet.

Since Koshien Group A was obviously going to be the top stream of the day, the real 1 to 1 clash is Nene's Anniversary 3D live vs Akabane Youko's 3D debut. Both start at the same time too.

Normally a Holo 3D live can't compete against a Niji 3D debut (which tbf, a Niji 3D live can't compete with a Holo 3D debut either), but this girl is a really low-tier Niji with bad numbers so it'll be interesting to see if Nene can pull ahead.

If you want useful numbers you want to compare the CCV with the views reported by the API 2-5 minutes into the stream. When people have done that for Gura previously she was "missing" about 25% of the viewers, compared to 19% for Pekora and 3% for Kuzuha.
