Of course bigger things have been floating about on this board which could be a factor, mostly Matuli because drama flood, IRyS because she's new and that design, the recent Watame tweet and so on.
Now, as far as the origin goes, yes tourists from /cgl/ /lolcow/ and the likes are a big part of that especially back in /jp/. The fact that she showed how much of a fucking menhera whore she was so early on in her freshly new hololive career didn't help either, her vulnerability already gave birth to orschizo the mental. Now you add to that the fact that she's loud, she's everywhere, she numberfags, also appealing to /u/ schizos and Kiara Hate was the rona of /vt/.
Now aside from orschizo, we know for sure there's at least one schizo that is still completely obsessed with her on this board, and he has gone as far as impersonating her on Twitter to spread doxx, camping Twitter till he sees actual damage, then immediately deletes everything to abvoid bans, rinse and repeat every once in a while. Now that's some fucking dedication.
