But you are actually one of the few, who got the irony I wanted to highlight with the post.
I actually think the same emotional mechanism is the basis in most extremists within the VTuber space. VTubers are an escape from reality, by them showing you a fantasy. When an element is introduced that destroys that fantasy it is rejected/fought.
See for example how niji-sisters twist the narrative around ex-nijis, or how antis twist facts, or how unicorns acts.
This is is not supposed to be criticism to anyone who doesn't watch kson. But rather a criticism of the rationalizations, because they do not capture the true essense of what they are missing.
This is also why streams with kson and a holo RM do so well, because they act as support for the fantasy so many Hololive fans are attached to.
