>>78497779That is an modern perception that came about due to George Bush. The left was the pro-war, pro-intervention side in both world wars. It was a left leaning democrat president that ordered American intervention in Korea. Same for ordering the failed bay of pigs invasion that set off Cuba and led to the Cuban missile crises. Same for pushing for American forces in Vietnam after the gulf of Tonkin incident.
The right is traditionally the isolationist side. Their not wanting to get involved in Ukraine perfectly fits historical trends. The war on terror era was the aberration, not the current situation.
Not saying the right hasn't had it's fair sure too, it has. Like I said, it's mixed. But seeing the right as the official pro war side does not match history, it's a legacy of Bush and recency bias.
