For newfriends / fa/tg/uys: this is a Chronicles of Darkness (CofD) homebrew being played by the fabulous ladies of Hololive English, running under the Hunter: the Vigil module. as SCOUT
An infectiously amiable shark, long-time resident of the underwater kingdom of Atlantis. She is also new to TTRPGs, but don't let that fool you, her roleplay and improv performance so far has been nothing less than masterful. After going through multiple drafts and iterations, she has settled upon the party's final character: an illiterate, tough-as-nails country blacksmith named Scout, a melee and survival powerhouse.

Of all the characters, she's actually doing pretty damn good. Some anons in the previous thread shit on her for the RP she did at the bar, not realizing she was simply staying in character as she should. Her one glaring flaw is her lack of IRL gun knowledge, being a nogunz Yuroslurp. Someone should link her some hickok45 videos on gun basics and I bet you she'd wind up lost in his channel for a full day. His lackadaisical approach and easy humor is very easy to get addicted to.

Flaky wimp at times, but whether this is Ina RP'ing as Yuul or Ina being herself is hard to discern. She could stand to voice herself a bit more, both OOC and in character. Looking back, some of her merits could have been used to great effect, but were not; in short, she needs to be more aware of what she has at her disposal and try to utilize them.

If you look at Watoto's character sheet, he's actually pretty well-rounded. Unfortunately Amelia hasn't made exceptional use of that versatility much. As newbies, it can be hard to know what skill can be used when and for what; she should spend some time looking up the skill descriptions (like Occult and Investigation, etc) to get a better grasp on how to best utilize them.

She's done three sessions and has performed pretty damn good in all of them. The right amount of RP, relatively good decisions to aid the party in one way or another, and likes to take off her pants as a comedic sop to the audience. Frankly she has yet to drag down the sessions much at all. She could be a little more OOC with asking Calli questions, but then again they all could.

Put points into athletics, remember your willpower, and give yourselves an hour of prep time before each session. A little pre-prep will go miles (kilometers for Ina and Kiara) in improving your personal experience, which in turn improves the group and audience's experience.

Posting the Takobot, probably one of the saddest things to not be used in this campaign so far.

I just want Calli to use more kinds of skills for information gathering rather than putting it all on perception checks. Social Insight rolls would be a huge boon, for example. Tiara could've used that to determine if the Darkling was a threat after they've tied him up.

If I had to name one criticism that is the least about personal preference and styles of roleplaying, it's the frequency of the perception checks so far. Some of them shouldn't be required to notice what they end up observing, and some of them would be better off as different rolls like you said.

Repeating the same roll too much makes the attributes connected to it too important, so the characters who have few dots in them get unintentionally disadvantaged - none of them knew perception checks would be this important during character creation. And even Yuul, who is the perception master of the group, kind of suffers because she's not standing out because of her knowledge and other unique skills (and it's not like she's at the forefront of conversations either, which wouldn't be a problem in itself), but because she's good at perceiving things - which I doubt Ina was imagining her character to be about, although she might be fine with it now.

Next session will test Calli's ability to implement different types of rolls, since (I assume) we're in for a largely social adventure. Naturally the girls aren't going to know what rolls do what and use what, so she should begin next session with a little list of social / information gathering rolls. What stats they use, and when they would be most effective. She should then strongly advise them to keep said rolls in mind when interacting at the party, hinting that good choices will get some nice juicy beets and maybe a little more as a prize.

While that was great I hope they split up in different pairs at the party. There's so much great dynamics that could come out of Tiara + Yuul, Scout + Watoto, etc.
Honestly all the characters are really entertaining when just RPing with each other

Splitting up has another edge to it, though. Having to bounce between split parties is something Calli hasn't done before; last session she was clearly scrambling just to move things along at a slug's pace. Not that I'm opposed to it, but it presents it a challenge to the pacing that I feel like they all need to be on the same page about.

Scout and Yuul dawdled around too much trying to get into the fay's hideout. Why they had to pull their usual Macguyver crafting shit instead of just bashing the door open like normal humans is beyond me. These girls have played too damn much Minecraft; they think they gotta craft their way out of everything.

I agree in terms of the party split, it's risky for the characters and bad for the experience unless everybody knows what they are doing - last time, it did slow the game down too much for me. It also produced some nice cliffhangers, but in return disrupted the roleplaying.

But to be fair regarding their use of crafting, the party has quite a few dots in crafting overall - and at least makes for more creative and fun moments than just maxing out combat skills and looking to fight the problem, or a similar focus on some of the "most relevant" skills. You can play a bit minecrafty if everyone is on board with it.

I think you missed the majorly important flowers Calli kept mentioning to the party. Those were the key to avoiding lethal damage, as the party was majorly outgunned by the fay.

What wasn't really explained was why he kept fake flowers around his hideout, maybe to ward off others of his own kind?

reminds me of when my teachers where worried about me because I always ruined my drawings like I was a madman during a nervous breakdown, in reality they where fighting and all those lines where the trails of said attacks. I also sometimes repent doing those lines after watching the mess.

Tutorials are all pretty good, but make sure you watch them chronologically to see how Calli uses them to test and refine her system rules. Tiara--->Yuul--->Watoto--->Scout is how the progression path goes.

Also this nigga here made some damn good theatrical posters for each one. Guy's a fuggin master artist.

The thing about special skills (which I assume you mean specialty) is that you're allowed to pick 3 specialties when making a character, which is something specific related to a skill your character has, and that gives you 1 more dice to the pool. So if you want to make a character who's a historian, then adding History specialty to their Academics does the trick.
In that case, their roll goes like this: INT 3 with Academics 3 allows them to roll 6 die, with History specialty they get 7.

Merits are basically advantageous things to their character, each costs a different amount of points, by default regular human Player Characters get 7 points to spend on them. Some STs allow other books to be used to expand on the list of Merits you can pick.

As for resources, the anon above said pretty much all it needs.

Well the first thing is really that you used a Mortal Remains (2 Sort of It's complicated) sheet, but statted them up in a mix of 1e and 2e rules. It's not massively a problem but does present some weirdness. So I'm just going to talk as if you should've been using 2e rules.

You Vice/Virtue are fine for both, but in 2e you don't have to stick to Christian morality. Almost anything can be a Vice or Virtue and the same thing might be a Vice on one person but a Virtue on another (see attached). So you get more room to have them be expressive and part of your characters more fully. The concept is super solid, especially for a Tier 1 chronicle so good work there. You Profession is cool too although you've failed to add the mechanical elements there. In 1e that would make Expression and Investigation your Asset Skills, and would give you a 4th Speciality in either of those two things. Asset Skills are marked with those little boxes left of the Skill. In 2e you instead gain the Professional Training Merit for free at 1 dot which is the same bar the free Specialty, and instead you get two dots of the Contacts Merit relating to that Profession. Merits are great, really thematic picks there. Aspirations are also great bar the second one, while 10k subs might be a goal they have it's not something you can tangibly work towards in game. It basically relies on the GM just telling you that you reached it, and thus sort of makes sort of dead weight, or you tie it into a new dot of Fame but that sort of presents the same issue. So I'd rework that one, maybe think about something more to do with their personal life or Touchstone (which I'll get to) as all three are just work focused right now. Health and WP are fine. Your Integrity should be 7. For 2e you should have 1 Touchstone at Integrity 6 (see attached). Then it's just Size 5, Speed 9, Defence 3, Armour 0, Initiative mod 5.

As for who this character is, I'm getting a bit of a "clickbaiting dickhead youtuber" type of feel off them.

Reposting this one with some fixes. He's a germophobe that works in hazardous materials cleanup, choosing his profession because of the safety that a sealed suit provides.
This character concept came to me in a dream about Mythbreakers shortly after the first session. In the dream, my character was responsible for chasing down a vampire in an abandoned chemical factory while the others operated the machinery to slow him down. The chase scene culminated in Yuul pinning the vampire against the wall with a forklift. I've never played a TTRPG so this was a strange experience for me.

There's one merit and flaw that I homebrewed for some extra flavour. I don't really know how strong this would be, but you can pretend it does something else.

Nah, Watoto is better as a proper goblin. I realize he’s supposed to be a half-breed, but he fits more as the pet of the group. It just makes for a better team dynamic and gives more credence to some of his past actions. Kind of wish Ame went with the “leave it to the player’s interpretation” stance she had before.

Thats very strange that you said that because I vividly remember Watoto being at least half goblin and them mentioning it in several different streams. He was also depicted as such in a lot of fanart. So either this was decided mid-campaign, or I have just been imagining the entire thing wrong in my head.

It's this. Ame said in character creation that he was a goblin, assuming it was like any fantasy settings, but this was soon corrected and since session 0 he has been canonically "goblin-like" in personality. Fanartists drew him as a goblin because they also falsely assumed the setting was generic fantasy. He isn't, nor has ever been, a goblin nor a half-goblin

Mori would not be able to keep up with weekly sessions; we don't know exactly what she's doing, but literally every single genmate and a decent number of ID/JPs say she's involved in a lot of shit, and even they usually don't have full knowledge (no one knew Calli was involved in both writing and performing the HoloALT song, for example)
the sessions themselves are pretty demanding on her, since she forces herself to get up really early to accommodate Ina and Kiara and she already struggles with streaming stamina in the first place

extended break currently mostly falls onto Ame and Ina's absences closely following each other (and now Mori having some kind of overseas trip) along with prep for their own anniversaries (Mori been suggesting working with a big producer for some really, really special MV) - while TTRPG is clearly Mori's 'thing', it'll always be second to any given music project

anons, why you're here making your own charsheets, could you maybe take the girls' ones, try cleaning them up (maybe fixing the merits/specializations a bit, removing the redundant ones etc.), sum up the collected equipment/amassed wounds, utilized willpower from the tutorials/sessions (while we're still in downtime land)

we could then toss them into the hashtags for the girls/Mythbreakers and possibly save them the work that they realistically seem to be putting away again and again due to different priorities

Makes me sad to agree with this. It's clear she's passionate about it (and both Kiara and Gura seem to be having oodles of fun with it as well). I just hope the extended hiatus doesn't end up killing the endeavor, because it has a very passionate fanbase. HMG is probably the most positive threads on /vt/. No fucking schizos and their endless rrat spamming. Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with this community? I know this board hates Connor with a passion (and I don't care for him either), but he really hit the mark labeling idol communities as complete madhouses.

Currently working on that as we speak.

As to the character sheets, I'm gonna need to do some research and probably consult with the WoD general, as I'm not familiar with the setting or what rulebooks Calli is drawing from. Wouldn't help to "fix" a character sheet when I'm not even using the correct rules.

There's a lot more at play than effort on the girls' part. Cover's management has such a ridiculous stranglehold on their talents, getting schedules and events through them is a feat in of itself. Just so everyone knows, management was so goddam slow / incompetent regarding the whole rights mess with White Wolf / Paradox, the CC collab almost didn't happen, and Calli was so upset she might've just gone rogue and hosted the stream anyway. But thankfully the higher ups got their asses in gear and rushed the paperwork through in time, so no harm no foul, but this isn't the first time this has happened.

Cover just needs to ease the fuck up on their talents and give them some flexibility within their own company. Yes, we'll get more yabs, yes Amelia will lose it on her Apex team and call them a bunch of worthless niggers in front of 13K people. That's part of the entertainment industry. All the rough spots make for fond memories.
