"A cog in the wheel, one which only functioned in tandem with others" - with what? What other things is it integrated with? What is the 'enslavement'? Is it that if everyone stopped caring about time they'll be free? No, people still die anyway.
Alternatively the entire thing is just a long and elaborate way to say 'people care too much about scheduling today', which would be really fucking lame and make Kronii the Warden of COVER meetings.
