They kinda were A-OK with COVER getting kicked because they thought Nijisanji CN(pro-b2/China) and their own VTuber corporations were going to quickly sweep in and take the piece of cake that Hololive dropped.
Fast forward several years, every single corporation and talent agency that tried to capitalize on China after Hololive pulled out is in complete ruins.
>Members graduated or terminated for batshit insane reasons on par with Rushia, there was even some alleged human trafficked Chuuba, unclear if she told the truth or no.>Loss of interest, because they are not the Holos, fail even at being copycats. And there's a gorillion of them in China.>Boring to watch, talentless even>Making barely enough bucks to match some low 2-3 views from the EN market despite having thousands of viewers in some cases due to their currency's value.>Absolutely no PR awareness, no idea how to grow their branch>Getting fucked over by state regulations demanding a lot of information that can easily go public due to hackers or state incompetence in cyber security, this recently lead to an omnibus of revelations that some hardcore schizos compiled into the "CN doxxfag bible" let's say.>Infighting between communities and members over small fuck-ups in a similar way to how the Coco situation blew up>The state getting more and more and tired of VTubers and trying to practically strangle and destroy market slowly with regulations that make it a barely viable long-time career. No wonder B2 asked COVER to come back now that the, they disappeared and everything immediately became chaos because they can't into sharing a market, much less into original ideas. Although the later is a cultural issue but eh, not a viable excuse.
There's a few high up VTuber agencies in China but... You might as well just be a fleshtuber, way less issues to deal with.
>Why now?Because Nijisanji, their biggest favourable foreign actor, is looking a little pale since February.
So in usual expected behavior from them, they are already replacing it before it falls ill and dies out of nowhere.
Unfortunately, the best replacement is the one company they kicked out with pride a few years back.
But not asking for it to return would look worse.
The golden rule of CN business:
Save face first, everything else is second.
Because if you don't save face, the people are going to lose credibility on your business and stop using it, even if you manage to get out of the gutter the damage is done and permanent.
There's a myriad of B2 issues currently so it's time to save face, whatever the cost it might be.
