Star Trek is kinda philosophy focused exploring futuristic concepts
Same with Babylon 5, but b5 was one of the first shows that started being clearly story arc-driven rather than episodic
Stargate is very military/action focused with top tier humor, not that deep but quality writing nontheless

All of these shows take multiple seasons to get truly good because I guess that's just how it was for old Sci fi shows.
