this gameplay only sucks if you have no appreciation for the world of the game itself, don't enjoy looking at the scenery and just vibing in the game, imagining the stories behind the scenery and random things you encounter on your 'boring' horse ride
you lack the imagination to understand that simply walking or riding around is itself an enjoyable part of the gameplay in its own way and adds to the immersion of the game
the world feels more alive because it's a slog to get through, just like real life
